Samuel Rutland – Co-Director
Samuel P. Rutland Jr. has forty years of work experience in municipal, County, Special Districts and regional government. His experience is in varied areas of social concerns. Among the areas of interest are programs for ex-offenders, women’s shelters, job development for hard to place populations, community organization and environmental protection.
Now retired, he serves as a guest teacher at the Junior High and High School level. Mr. Rutland is an accomplished chef and enjoys serving meals for friends twice per year (Thanksgiving and New Year’s day). His cuisine of choice is southern soul. Mr. Rutland is a graduate of College of San Mateo (A.A. Liberal Arts) CA. State University Hayward (B.A. Sociology), CA. State University Hayward (Master of Public Administration/MPA). His emphasis is on community organization and social change. Mr. Rutland is the proud father of one adult daughter (Jessica). He has been married for 48 years (to Doris). Mr. Rutland has lived in CA since the age of two.
